I have been thoroughly enjoying the Outdoor Hour Challenge bird posts submitted by families from all over the country.
I wanted to share in this entry some links that I don't want you to miss. You get to hear how our family completes the Outdoor Hour Challenges all the time, but I know many of you don't have time to read all the links on Mr. Linky each week. I have picked a variety of entries for you to enjoy reading.
Bumpin' Along the Road Less Traveled: Our Outdoor Hour Study-Hummingbirds
Casey captured in a photo her daughter with a hummingbird....wow! You will enjoy reading their entry and about their study this week.
Discovery Academy: Don't Mock Me
Baby birds are always a treat to see up close. The feathers are amazing and check out those hungry mouths!
Preparation Education: Goldfinch and Western Meadowlark
Rhonda persevered and was able to find the subject of this week's challenge. Amazing bird photos in this entry.
The Stalcups Outdoors: Feathers...wings and tails
I love this entry. Parke's children are learning to be great observers and they are making connections in their nature study that are amazing to read about. Please don't miss reading their experiences this week.
This is not a bird post but a really good reminder from a newbie!
Charlie and Henry: The Outdoor Hour
This family is just starting out with the challenges and it is a great reminder that it *is* that time of year to sunflowers in little pots and watch them grow!
Please stop by each of the above posts and leave them a little comment of encouragement after you enjoy their entry.
This entry got me to thinking....how about we start an Outdoor Hour Challenge Blog Carnival? Would you all be interested in submitting and reading entries from other Outdoor Hour Challenge participants once a month? I think it would be a great way to showcase our best entries and have them all gathered together for families to enjoy together.
Leave me a comment if you have any thoughts about an Outdoor Hour Challenge Blog Carnival.
Barb-Harmony Art Mom
oh yeah! i was thinking at the beginning of your post "i wonder if she's thought of doing a blog carnival". :D I'd love it!
ReplyDeleteI think that could be a terrific idea! I have been a little slack of late in the Nature department! But I am here visiting so that I can get myself back on track again (it SOOOO doesn't come naturally to me!!!) and I think your idea of a blog carnival once a month would be great!
ReplyDeleteFrom Australia!!!
Wow, thanks for giving us a mention on this post. We are really enthusiastic about all things outdoors. The sunflowers just popped through today after less than week...it was much excitement at breakfast!!
ReplyDeleteSure! Sounds like a good ending to a great bird study!
ReplyDeleteYou may have already seen these, but I ran across these live nest cams this week and we've been watching a baby eaglet and three baby hawks. The links are at my newest post on crazymaizeworld.blogspot.com.
