Last week I was outside early and this was what I heard.
I can recognize the Western scrub jay's screeching and the crow cawing, but I do not know what bird has the very long complicated birdsong starting at about 20 seconds on the video. Even looking with my binoculars I could not see the bird who was serenading me on this autumn morning.
If anyone knows who the mystery bird is, please leave me a comment or email me with your ideas.

Barb, my 12 year old resident ornithologist thinks its the Northern Mockingbird...it's her favorite. Blessings to you!

I think she may right! I just popped over to the Cornell bird site and listened....yes, very much like the Northern Mockingbird. I will keep my eyes out.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much,
Barb
Yes, it reminds me of the mockingbirds we have here in Arkansas. Their song changes constantly.

ReplyDeleteI just asked my 4 year old son what he thought it was and he said "Peacock"...

ReplyDeleteThanks for the laugh this morning.
